The S017 ROM must be installed via TWRP recovery there and instructions on how to install TWRP either through flashing using SPFlashTool or using MobileUncleTool is given in the instructions sheet.
The update to S017 will update GApps and add other necessary system files like GMail/Maps/Talk/ update Lenovo specific apps like Launchers/SEcureIt/LenovoSync and Google Sync apps and update some framework files since the upgrade from S011 to S017 is only about 20Mb and mostly it is Lenovo bloatwares.
First you must already obtain root access to upgrade – if you are are not rooted and on stock ROM you must gain temporary root access by using VROOT (which is to be installed on PC and will Root the phone via USB connection- dont want to go into that topic – Google for it!) this will enable you to use MobileUncleTool to install TWRP recovery.
Or if you are experienced you can flash the TWRP recovery only using SPFlashTool.
Flash the MAIN BASE ROM and the S017update zip file in a single process using TWRP.
The settings defaults to Germany/Europe in the time/date settings and GPS location please change the locale from "de" (Germany) to your country e.g "fr"(France),"pl"(Poland). DO NOT use MobileUncleTool/Faster GPS/GPS Doctor apps to change the gps.settings. you only have to edit your locale in the file called "gps.conf" in system/etc folder.(please use RootExplorer/RootBrowser app) There are specific settings only for MTK devices those apps (Faster GPS/GPS Doctor/MobileUncleTool) will overwrite the settings!
In the NTPSync you must also input the locale. Update to SuperSU 1.99r3
